Description
Introducing the DW Design Series Acrylic Drum Kit, where visual aesthetics and high-quality sound meet. This kit brings a fresh yet familiar look with its clear seamless acrylic shells and sleek silver and white badge. Its beauty is not just skin deep - the sound quality is exceptional too, thanks to the DW's patented STM (Suspension Tom Mount) system, which allows drums to vibrate freely for maximum resonance.
The kit is equipped with Remo USA-made Suede 'outline' logo heads, adding to its overall appeal. The Design Series drums come standard with a set of heads made specifically for DW by Remo - a testament to the quality of this kit. The bass drums feature clear P3-style batter heads and clear resonant logo heads, while the snare drums come with coated control sound batter heads and clear snare side resonant heads.
The Design Series also features DW's patented True-Pitch rod system, giving drummers more control over their sound. This kit doesn't just sound good and look good, it also provides a more exacting tuning process.

DW Design Series Acrylic - Wow!
This is an outstanding kit and series from DW. I'd been away from DW for a couple of decades, and it seems as if they've been making major strides since. I bought mine used from Guitar Center, but even at full retail these drums seems like a bargain.
I'd always been intrigued by acrylic, but thought of it more as a novelty. After playing mine for the last couple of months I realized these are legit. I known acrylics to be louder (they are) but they're no less warm and sensitive. One thing I immediately notice about the DW quality is the tuning machine heads. They operate so smoothly and accurately. They glide like silk and are effortlessly easy to tune. I put Remo clear emperors on and they sound fantastic.
I also think these drums are the perfect sizes. For several years I ignored the modern smaller sizes, owing to my roots to the bigger dimensions of the 70's and 80's. Yamaha tour and "turbo" tour series. But clearly drum manufacturing has come a long way, and the bearing edges, hardware and shells these days combine to create booming, big drum sounds. And it's much easier to navigate around the kit, making the playing experience a true joy.
I've tapped on other Design Series kits with traditional woods and they sound and feel great too. I love the gloss white ones too. But you can't beat the look of the acrylic. Everyone who sees them can't help but say 'wow"!

In the video titled "Brooks Wackerman - Avenged Sevenfold - Tour Kit Rundown", Brooks Wackerman of Avenged Sevenfold is seen using a DW Design Series Acrylic Drum Kit. At the beginning of the video, Wackerman is visibly playing this kit, and at 1:16, he discusses the sizes of the toms, which are 10", 12", and 13", with floor toms measuring 15" and 16".
Dan was signed by DW just before the recording of “The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit” album, and since he was using an SJC acrylic kit the previous album, it made sense to try and keep the same kind of tone.
As seen in this Drum Workshop tweet, Zak Starkey was using the Drum Workshop Designer Series Acrylics drum kit in 2014.
At the 16:07 mark of the YouTube video titled "Studio Tour with Rob Gueringer (a.k.a. Freaky Rob)" by Guitar Center, Rob Gueringer can be seen playing a DW Design Series Acrylic Drum Kit.
I felt like this is the perfect drum kit.
