Description
The Yamaha Stage Custom is the ideal drum kit for both beginners and seasoned drummers alike. Featuring 100% birch shells, this 5-piece drum set delivers the rich, resonant sound that Yamaha is renowned for. The set includes a bass drum, two rack toms, a floor tom, and a snare drum, providing a versatile foundation for any musical style. The Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System (YESS) ensures maximum shell resonance and sustain, allowing your drumming to truly sing.
Built using Yamaha's Air Seal System, the shells are perfectly round and of uniform thickness, ensuring superior tone quality and durability. The low-mass lugs minimize contact with the shell, allowing it to vibrate freely, resulting in impressive sustain and remarkable tone. Finished in a high-gloss lacquer, this drum kit not only sounds great but looks stunning on any stage.
Whether you’re playing jazz, rock, or funk, the Yamaha Stage Custom's birch shells offer a balanced tone with clear highs, focused mids, and rich lows. The inclusion of a triple-flange hoop and die-cast claw hooks add to the stability and longevity of the kit, making it a reliable companion for your drumming journey.

Best kit I've ever owned! Those rack tom arms, though.
I've gigged with the smaller 5-piece version (20" x 17" bass drum, 10" x 7", 12" x 8" rack toms, 14" x 13" floor tom, 14" x 5-1/2" snare) in natural wood with an added 16" x 14" floor tom for a two-up/two-down configuration. The 20" kick sacrifices very little low-end punch for the height clearance I need to put my rack toms where I want them -- I'm only 5'7" and I've struggled for years with 22" kicks. Throw your favorite heads on them, tune 'em up, and play your heart out; these drums are fantastic on stage and in the studio.
My only gripe (and this is more Yamaha kits in general, less so this specific kit) is Yamaha's rack tom mount design. The short hex-shaped arms impose constraints on positioning, especially if you're mounting the rack toms from the kick. I worked around this problem by mounting them on a rack, offset from the kick, but ymmv.

Beautiful look and authentic sound
I have the snare and bass drum in amber color. The snare sounds legitimate, and is a joy to play.

Amazing Kit
I got this Kit coming from an okay Electric Kit, and im reall impressed with the sound and feel, This kit has a great feel and sounds great, that is if you tune it a bit. But even out of the box it sounded good, I got some good Zildjian cymbals that sound great with the Kit, A great purchase. Definetely worth the money
