Description
Experience the harmonious blend of vintage warmth and modern precision with the Gretsch Renown Maple Drumset. Crafted for drummers who demand versatility, this drum set is engineered to adapt effortlessly to any musical genre or playing style. The 7-ply maple shells are the heart of its capable range, delivering the iconic "Great Gretsch Sound" with a balance of warmth, volume, and articulation. Whether you’re exploring the smooth grooves of the '50s or powering through the epic rock anthems of the '80s, these drums provide the sensitivity and punch needed.
One of the standout features of the Renown series is the 30-degree bearing edge, which enhances the drum's attack and warmth, offering a softer response and fuller tone. Complementing this is Gretsch's proprietary Silver Sealer and the innovative 302 hoops. These hoops provide the character of die-cast hoops but with the added benefit of increased resonance and openness, thanks to their lighter design. This ensures that every note you play sings with clarity and presence, giving you an expressive, dynamic sound that shines in both studio and live settings.
Join a community of musicians who trust Gretsch for their legendary craftsmanship and enduring quality. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an aspiring drummer, the Gretsch Renown Maple Drumset is your gateway to a world of sonic possibilities.

This particular model of the renown series was made 2000-2002 and is one of the best instruments i have played compared to the DW Design Series, Tama Starclassic, and Pearl Masterworks models.
Gretsch Renown Drums... more like buckets filled with gold and "graceful" Dave Grohl power strokes. If you have not played any type of Gretsch set, you need to sell your car and go buy some of these puppies because no matter what the genera of music being played or amount of drums forming this diabolical beauty of a drum set, you feel like the greatest drummer you have ever seen and sound... pretty good... cause we'll never sound as good as our favorite drummer. But soundwise the Renown series is an all around Intermediate/Pro level kit, and with its insane amount of tuning range and drums to choose from... you literally can't go wrong! So go home and beg to your wife about getting another basement because once you try out one of these drum sets, you'll want 14 of them.

In this live performance photo, Ben is seen playing his Gretsch Renown Maple Drum Kit.
"I ventured into a music store in Manchester to buy batteries. It was like the moment in Wayne’s World when Wayne spots the white Fender strat. But instead of the guitar, it was a Gretsch Renown Maple drumset in a dark-wood finish with a vintage marine strip down the center (12? rack, 16? floor, 22? bass). I’m currently recording with those drums at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales. It’s sounding so good—deep, warm tones and a lot of character" - via Modern Drummer
