The Phifer Archtop is a handcrafted boutique jazz guitar designed by master luthier Sherwood “Woody” Phifer, combining traditional archtop craftsmanship with modern performance innovation. Known for its rich acoustic resonance, smooth playability, and striking visual aesthetics, the instrument is built for professional jazz, fusion, blues, and contemporary players seeking both warmth and clarity. Its advanced internal construction helps minimize feedback while preserving the natural sustain and dynamic response expected from a premium hollowbody instrument. Each Phifer Archtop is custom-built using high-end components, ebony appointments, premium electronics, and carefully selected tonewoods for exceptional tonal balance and reliability. Available with multiple floating or body-mounted pickup configurations, the guitar delivers everything from vintage jazz warmth to articulate modern tones. Distinctive burst finishes and handcrafted detailing further establish the Phifer Archtop as a high-end custom instrument for discerning musicians.
