Review: Slate Digital Virtual Tape Machines - Everything Recording

everythingrecording.com

The Slate Digital Virtual Tape Machines Plugin impresses with its ability to impart a warm, analog feel to digital recordings. Its intuitive interface, featuring minimal controls, offers two tape machine emulations and tape types, making it versatile without overwhelming the user. The plugin excels in adding depth and a subtle, yet notable, improvement to tracks, especially drums. However, users should be mindful of potential latency issues when using multiple instances in Pro Tools without delay compensation. Overall, it stands out among competitors, delivering authentic tape warmth without the hassle of hardware.

I use it on every track

I use this one on almost every track and it definitely makes them all better. Sometimes i don't use it on bass heavy kicks because it's saturating them in a way i don't really like, sometimes it happens on basses too. I try to set it really subtle on them anyway, but there are situations when i don't use it. They are really really rare.
