is it an old one? I have burnt down my fair share of the old ones in my voxes, I can't invest in them anymore, I still load up with mallard, amperex and GE pres in some of my amps though, especially the matchless where a mullard mesh plate ef86 is night and day compared to anything else in that circuit, even the coveted tele 806 that for me is too hifi for a guitar amp (I should sell mine, it tests new).... you know the old tungsrams 84s sound super similar to the teles and cost way less for a matched set

I am pretty sure that my tube was made in 1957. I think the name makes the price (like Apple).

that's fairly old for telefunken tubes these days... nice find, what do you have it in? when it fades (84s don't last as long as the big bottle power tubes), take my advice and look at the tungsrams, very similar, cheaper by 75% though the supply IS drying up on those

First this tube was in my old Operette 8 tube radio. As a tube of one of my friends Fender Blues Junior (I do not really like this amplifier) burned through I offered him my old Telefunken. But only until he has a new one. Then the tube wanders back into the tube radio (my favourite guitar amp).
