One of the best reverb plugins for a very affordable price.
I had previously been using different free reverb plugins to make 80s inspired music but a lot of them sounded too clean and modern. After buying vintage verb I fell in love with the sound of it. It makes even a really dry analog synth sound massive and smooth, It pushes it out into the stereo field. It works great on snares for that 80s punch and it shines on pads. An amazing plugin and worth having in a studio whether you are a beginner or professional.

My thoughts on Valhalla VintageVerb.
If you want dark, rich-sounding reverbs this is the plugin to use. Absolutely stunning sound quality, whether you're using it for a light dash of reverb to give any instrument that special "mojo" or going crazy with 100% MIX settings for special FX purposes. This plugin will give you the "lonely clean guitar tone" used by Mikael Akerfeldt when used with the right settings and a PRS guitar. Such a wonderful sound! Valhalla rocks!

The Reason Why I Fell In Love With Reverb
When someone asks me what reverb they should get, not matter if they're a new producer or someone who's been doing this for a long time, I will always recommend this. I own a plethora of other reverb plugins. I have the Reflektor, the Waves IR1, the Waves TrueVerb, the UAD Lexicon 224, and the UAD AMS RMX16. A majority of those reverbs cost hundreds of dollars, however this $50 plugin just continues to make me smile every time I load it up. This is always the first reverb I use in a project. For just about everything. Sometimes I take a break to use the RMX16 but this is the one for me.

"One of the top three atmospheric Lexicon style reverbs in the box"
"I've grown to love some of the custom programs I have been able to make with this plugin. What I love most is the user interface and it's minimalistic design. Being a person who worked for years on Lexicon 224, 480L and PCM 70 through 92, I can really appreciate how Sean Costello of Valhalla has found a way to make the Lexicon sound more ready, willing and able than it ever was. This software is fun!"

My Top 5 Favorite Reverb
Usually went I'm using Kontakt The Grandeur Library. I would paired this reverb up with the modern setting. It amazing how this reverb just change the whole feeling coming out from the kontakt library itself especially empathizing on the clear notes.
Other than that, I also use this reverb to pair with the high hat, making it more realistic

Artist usage
Add artist
Used on "Closer", as stated by producer DJ Swivel in this February 2017 Sound on Sound interview.
“All Halsey’s vocals apart from her hook vocals further down have tons of plug-ins and sends! The insert chain on these tracks is Auto-Tune, Waves Renaissance De-essser, Waves SSL Channel, Waves RVox, Waves RDe-esser and SPL Vitalizer, and on two tracks I add the Waves RVerb, and on the ‘Delay Chop’, which happens just one moment towards the end, the Valhalla Vintage Verb. Each of Halsey’s vocals here is EQ’ed slightly differently, and also the same with the de-essers. The first in the chain usually works as a normal de-esser, and the second functions more as corrective EQ. They each have different frequencies that they act on, with different thresholds and amounts, and they tend to correct small issues in just one word or so. It may be a harsh upper-mid thing, which female vocals can have, and I just carve out those frequencies with the RDe-esser. I don’t want to take it out of the entire performance, because that frequency may add energy to the overall vocals.
“I also like using the RVox as a second compressor, to really tame the vocal. It just brings it right out in front and sticks the vocal in your face. I usually am pretty subtle with the RVox, but every once and a while I’ll slam it and you get this really cool sound. I learned that from Pensado’s Place. Finally, the SPL Vitalizer again adds some sheen to these vocals. The ‘Halsey Delay’ track adds four delays at the end of the song, with the second one pitched down with Auto-Tune. You can get some cool things by pitching down the vocals in Auto-Tune and changing the throat length and things like that.
“In addition, all these tracks have tons of sends, going to the Lexicon plate reverb, in some cases the Lexicon hall reverb as well, and the H-Delay medium delay and the Doubler for more width. The ‘Halsey Lead 1’ track also has a send to the ‘Tape Delay’ track, on which I have a delay from the Waves Kramer Master Tape plug-in, which is set to a 15ips slap with not a lot of feedback. That delay adds a nice tonality and space. I also have several delay throws on certain words she sings, like in her opening line, where it goes ‘you... you’ on the upbeat.
“By comparison, there are very few treatments on Halsey’s hook vocals, which only have Auto-Tune, the SSL Channel, and the Doubler. Similarly, Drew’s backing vocals also have these plug-ins, and some Lexicon plate reverb. I’m using the SSL Channel to get rid of some high end on some of the tracks, because they were a little too bright, and had different effects on each of them to make sure they were not too similar.
In Issue 332 of Future Music magazine, page 67, Martin says: 'Valhalla Shimmer and Vintage Verb are also cornerstones of our sound.'
In a user-uploaded photo on Imgur, Jake Thornton is seen using the ValhallaVintageVerb plugin to enhance the reverb in Still Woozy's track "Lava."
Used for background vocals on "Say So", as stated by mix engineer Clint Gibbs in this July 2020 Sound on Sound interview.
"All vocal audio tracks have the same signal path: Metric Halo Channel Strip 3, Avid Bomb Factory BF-76, Avid Dyn-3 De-Esser and in the case of the lead vocals, the FabFilter Pro‑Q 3, all on the inserts, plus sends to the quarter- and eighth–note delays and reverb. These are all part of the recording template, and came from Kalani. I am familiar with the settings, because I worked on them, so I didn't change them. The Metric Halo is doing a high-pass, the BF-76 has all buttons in to give it that pop vocal sound. I added the Q 3, cutting 1dB at 279Hz and at 740Hz. I like to do tons of minimal EQ cuts with many plug‑ins.
"The lead vocal audio tracks also have a send called Voc SC, which goes to the side-chain input of the Waves F6 on the Keys bus. It helps make a little extra pocket for the vocal. It creates dynamic dips in the 900Hz and 2kHz range when she is singing. I also have this F6 on the 808 bus of the remix, doing the same thing. All lead vocal audio tracks go to the LD Vocal aux, which has another instance of the Q 3, taking out quite a bit of low end to make space for the bass, and the McDSP AE600 dynamic EQ, taking out problem areas only when they occur. I do a lot of vocal riding on the lead vocal bus, pushing up specific syllables.
"There's also a track called Echo FX Clean. When I have to mute a word, I will take the word before it and will delay it with some reverb to fill the empty space. The additional plug‑in by Vengeance, the VPS philta XL filter, is doing a high and a low cut to give it more of that radio sound. The other vocal tracks are treated in similar ways as the lead vocals, though the BG2 bus has the Valhalla Vintage Verb, with a 2.4s reverb, Mix at 18 percent. I think that came from Kalani, but I added the FabFilter Pro‑DS, because I wanted to take the 's' frequency out of the reverb. All vocals go to the Vocals bus, which has the UAD 1176, switched off, and the JSTClip for some level boosting. The Vocal Rear track is the parallel, with -20dB compression on the 1176. This is where I get my vocal loudness from.
"My first reverb was a guitar effects pedal… a piece of crap. Now, I've got Valhalla [DSP]. I've seen people talk about it in the tech mags before and, yes, it really is that good! Shimmer and VintageVerb is on everything I do, from the smallest touches to the huge sweeps that can take a song way off into the distance."
"I like to use a mixture of hardware and plugins. For reverb I always turn to the Eventide Space pedal and the Valhalla Vintage Verb plugin - the two together can often throw up interesting results"
