Super nice for huge, cosmic FX
What else is there to say? It's great for huge modulated reverbs and FX, and it's free. What more could you want? I've used it in a couple tunes, and it makes acoustic instruments sound epic.

the sound of an exploding star
While I was searching through reverb pedals so ridiculously far above my price range I kept seeing people compare the super expensive boutique reverb pedals to this plugin. For example one reviewer said the only results that matched what the $500+ "Big Sky" reverb could do were the ones obtained with this plugin. Naturally that got my attention and the fact that it is FREE meant it was certainly in my price range (of $0 :[) so I got it. Am I ever glad that I did. For what I do (harsh noise) this plugin is almost perfect. The ability to get a delay sound paired with the regular reverb is also a great bonus and time-saver. The only potential downside I can see is the plugin tends to dominate the mix if feedback is too high, but the ease with which it can be decreased and the fast clean responsive quality saves it from spiraling out of control, assuming that you want the other parts of your song to stay audible.

limited applications but...
I find this to be over the top for most mixes but when you're doing something big and synthy with bladerunner brass pitch dives this is a good plugin to try if a lexicon hardware unit isn't working. Its very modern the way it combines delays and echoes hard to describe. Great on strings for instance. It took me a long time to be working on soemthing this was right for and if I paid for it I would be giving it like 2 strs, but for free? Its a 5 star because when its right its awesome.

Has a very unique character for a delay unit
Firstly, this one is free - I recommend it wholeheartedly (and if you can spare a couple dozen dollars, consider buying a reverb or two from them too, they deserve it). Supermassive is almost as if you told a machine what a delay, reverb and chorus are, what they do, then prompted said machine to give out a few algorithms that combine all of them somehow. Not every mode is useful, I'll say that much, but some are very lush and wonderful, definitely fit to work in some contexts.
If you just want a simple delay, or a tape delay, or whatever - look somewhere. This simply isn't the plugin for that, and it doesn't try to be either. If you want a lush delay unit that blends the line between a delay and reverb, and maybe even chorus, then definitely take a look at this. It's free, just nab it and give it a shot, see if you like it or not.

Amazing effect for massive reverbs, choruses and delays.
This might be the best free plugin out there. Let's you morph a delay into a reverb, by splitting each delay repetition into many slightly offset delays, as the delay feeds back, the spread accumulates, slowly turning the repeating delays into a reverberation, giving the impression that each delay repetition moves further and further away. For delays this gives an extra dimension of control to the timbre of the delay, and with frequency modulation, this is an instant vibe-maker. With lower densities of the repetitions, it can even act as a sort of granular (not really granular, but similar sound) delay.

It really is super massive.
This is a fantastic reverb, especially being free. Can be used to add some really nice space and vibe to ambient or chill tracks, or added to instruments you want to tuck back in the mix to add some spacey emotion. For most genres I stick to the basic Gemini mode and tweak delay and density for the results I want. Some of the presets are really nice but as of yet I haven't had a ton of use with them in production.

Really Massive
It is a good plugin when you want to do really massive synths, guitars, swells stuff. At times it sounds kindof metallic because of it's algorithmic approach and if you really want to emulate a small room, another approach would be better. It has many parameters/presets but they only enhance the more synthetic/space sound, and it is ideal for sound design. I use it a lot, especially on dreamy stuff and because it is free I consider it a must have!

Awesome! The best (free) reverb plugin.
ValhallaDSP Supermassive is the best free reverb plugin. In my modest opinion, it's absolutely fantastic, specially the new 2.5 version with the new improved algorythms. Valhalla DSP produce some of the best commercial reverb, delay and echo plugins (with very affordable price), all excellent but Supermassive is at the same top level.

The universe in sound form
This is an amazing plugin and sounds just like it´s name,i use it mainly in my Korg Volca Keys, turning that little guy in a cosmic tool of the great ones and sometimes for some super atmospheric layer in the background of my guitar tracks,it´s phenomenal.
