Critic Reviews

Yamaha EMX512SC

soundonsound.com

Yamaha's EMX512SC is a powerhouse PA mixer, delivering exceptional effects and a robust 500W per channel in a compact, lightweight design. Its standout features include high-quality built-in effects stemming from Yamaha's SPX range and a flexible EQ system. However, it falls short with its 15V phantom power, potentially limiting for some mics, and a puzzling absence of a headphone output. Despite these drawbacks, it remains a fantastic choice for small to medium venues, offering great value and easy transport. Perfect for musicians needing a reliable, all-in-one solution without the bulk.

10/10! Best sounding powered mixer

This thing has to be the best sounding mixer i’ve ever used, great effects, eq control, etc. it’s simple to use, light as a feather and sounds great! Had this mixer for over 12 years and has never let me down. 10/10 would recommend for a beginner to pro.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Favourite settings would be to put the graphic eq in a small “V” shape and add some of hall or stage reverb to taste for vocals, acoustics, etc Put the compression knob around 9:00, roll off the lows a bit for the vocals on the parametric eqs, and you’re ready to go with an amazing sound.
