One million humbled thanks to Justin Hayward aka best boss ever for this wonderful 1966 Kalamazoo @epiphone ???? I guess I’m officially a vintage guitar owner now ???? The strings smell like the 60s and it’s glorious
The NUMBER 1 QUESTION I’m asked at workshops, concerts, online and really everywhere is undoubtedly ‘Where is the bathroom?’ I’m like ‘I don’t know but have you tried these strings?’
While talking about his current guitar at 1:05 a Nick Benjamin guitar, he explains it is based on a Taylor 214 he played since he was a child.
Used in tandem with a volume pedal to add some overdrive to his acoustic
"I had the Boss RC-20, but I just replaced it with the DigiTech JamMan XT Express, which is incredibly compact and super-affordable. It’s stereo, it’s true bypass, it has a very small footprint, and it’s all I need—on and off."
In this photo posted on Dawes' Instagram profile, the HONZ ToneWood amp can be seen.
Explaining his guitar rig in this video, At 2:56 "The Fantastic DiMarzio Angel unit which I really love"
Used to achieve bass guitar tones on an Acoustic guitar
"As long as I'm holding that button, the note will sustain"
Used in tandem with a Joyo american amp emulator pedal to sweep in overdriven tones on an acoustic"

"We're going to go through this awesome Zvex Wah Probe, a wah pedal, but it's actually a sort of proximity sensor, so as you move closer to the pad, you get your wah sound. The reason I went for this kind of unit is not for the sort of theramin gimmick thing, it's actually because, if you think about a wah pedal, when you turn on a wah pedal, you click that button, it kicks into those ... to the high stuff, doesn't it? Kicks into a very noticable change... "
Mike Dawes is seen using the Roland SPD::ONE WAV Pad in a photo on his Instagram. He mentions this gear as one of his "best friends" while preparing for upcoming tours, highlighting its integral role in his setup.
In an Instagram post, Mike Dawes discusses a design issue with Bose mixers, sharing a photo that includes his TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster pedal.
When it comes to electric guitar, Mike loves working with these Fractal Audio units. Incredible pieces of equipment containing hyper realistic models of hundreds and hundreds of amps and effects. If you have not heard of this stuff, check it out. It may well be that lugging heavy amplifiers to shows becomes a thing of the past. Genius.

Guitarist Mike Dawes uses D'Addario NYXL Nickelwound Guitar Strings 10-46, as highlighted on the D'Addario artist page.
'' Mike bought my hundredth guitar in 2010 - a Cocobolo rosewood and Alpine spruce Jumbo model and now also owns a Sitka spruce and mahogany JOM that has been his main touring guitar over the past couple of years'' says Benjamin (the guitar maker)

"It's all being powered by the Fuel Tank, the T-Rex Fuel Tank here which is really cool."
It’s NEW PEDAL DAY! Beyond excited to start writing and recording with this thing. I’d heard about @hologram_electronics through @knobs_demos @mixedbyg1 @mishaperiphery and others and this #infinitejets unit is truly amazing. You guys know that I don’t go ‘full geek’ too often as there are few innovations that rock my weird little world ???? Calling it a ‘synth pedal’ cheapens the sculpting capabilities of the IJ. Think of it as something that will allow you to sound unique & do things that you can’t really do in the moment within a DAW like most guitar effects units. I’d totally recommend checking out the demos on YouTube. I’ll be taking this out for the @thisisnikmystery album sessions next week and you can bet your ass it’ll be all over my next solo record ????(which I’ll start writing in March)
A great UK company, Mike uses the performance capo, along with a prototype partial capo. These capos work on a pressure system, you can easily adjust the tension with a simple squeeze. Plus they look like they’re part of a porsche.
My board is always evolving, so I need a variety of cable lengths at short notice. The DIY Solderless Pedalboard Cable Kit facilitates that
In this youtube video at 1m24s we can see the neunaber Immerse pedal being used on his pedalboard
In this video with Paul Davis and Mike Dawes, (at 26:36 into the video) he mentions and shows he's using a ToneWoodAmp 2.
In the video "Mike Dawes - Be My Mistake (The 1975)" by Mike Dawes on YouTube, the Oktava MK-012 small diaphragm condenser microphone is identifiable by its distinctive trumpet mouthpiece-shaped capsule and mic clip, visible 11 seconds into the video. It's next to the Aston Origin large diaphragm condenser!
In this video you can see a few mics, but this entry is about the Aston Microphones Origin Large Diaphragm Condenser seen at 11 seconds into the video, next to the Oktava MK-012!
