John Cummings' Gear
John's second amplifer that he uses on stage is a Marshall JCM 900.
Just below the tuner is the Dr. Swamp, recognisable by its colourful exterior and the frontal design.
In a MusicRadar video titled "Mogwai's live setup revealed," John Cummings is seen using a Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special HH, known for its distinct pickups.
John tells the interviewer of an old Music Man Stingray guitar, specifically the second model.
John has two OS-2's next to the Dr. Swamp distortion.
Just to the left of the OS-2's is a Boss Bass Overdrive pedal.
On the top left corner of the first board is an EHX Hog. This one is the first model, not the second.
Just to the left of the Univibe is an MXR Carbon Copy. It's difficult to see, but the colour gives away its identity, as well as other characteristics.
On the second board, the big blue pedal is an EHX Cathedral.
To the left of the colourful pedals is the Fuzz Gun by Death by Audio.
The pedal right of the Pedal Power is a Fat Sandwich by Way Huge Electronics.
Amplifying both tube heads are angled Marshall 4x12 speaker cabinets.
In the MusicRadar video "Mogwai's live setup revealed," John Cummings is shown to own multiple Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Deluxe guitars. He notes that some of these guitars have had their pickups replaced with EMG humbuckers.
This is a short video of the guitar tech of Mogwai introducing John's gear. I'll introduce the pedals on his board in short snippets accordingly. Starting with the tuner, that is the Boss TU-2.
John also has two of Kerry King's signature EQ pedals above the OS-2's.
To the left of the top KFK EQ pedal is the Holy Stain pedal, as characterised by the massive lettering as well as the EHX logo on the bottom of the pedal.
To the left of the Bass Overdrive is a Dunlop Univibe.
Above the Univibe is a lone Pedal Power by Voodoo lab. This one is the 2+ model.
Just below the EHX Hog is its helpful brother, the EHX Hog Foot Controller.
John Cummings of Mogwai leads Musicradar on a tour of his rig. The first amp he displays is a Super Bass from Marshall.
John works on computers as well as guitar. He agrees to the fact that he uses Ableton Live on his computer.
John also mentions his use of Cubase, especially in directions.
To the left of the Fuzz Gun is a Deluxe Interstellar by Death by Audio.
John tells the audience that the delay pedal is the DD-7.
To the far left of John's pedalboard is an LS-2 by Boss.
The ibanez ES-2 Echo Shifter can be seen to the left at 5:55
"I mostly played a mid-’90s Telecaster Custom, a 1985 Les Paul, and a 1965 Fender XII, plugged into the Marshall Super Bass I’ve had since I was a teenager, as well as a Joe Satriani signature model."
To the right of the Carbon Copy is a Script Phaser by MXR
Guitar Rig is a pretty good effects rack, but it's the Waves GTR3 that we would go to for usable amp sounds

I'm a huge fan of [NI's] FM8 — really impressed with the range of sounds you can get out of that.
