Robert Ackroyd's Gear
As seen in this picture from his Instagram and according to Motor Ave Guitars website, Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd owns a Motor Ave BelAire guitar. He played this guitar at several shows from the band's 2018 and 2019 High As Hope tour, like in this performance of Hunger.
Guitarist Robert Ackroyd has two Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212 amps. “They have a great drive sound without getting the levels too loud,” says guitar/bass tech Djamir “Penguin” Filho. “Added to the amps are two THD Hot Plates. I can control the levels and have the tubes always ‘full-on’ while keeping the volume correct for the show. We mike each amp with a Shure SM57.” Ackroyd’s footpedals comprise a H.O.G. (harmonic octave-generator guitar synth); Boss Loop Station RC-2, TU-3 chromatic tuner, FZ-5 fuzz, TR-2 tremolo and DD-7 digital delay; DigiTech X Series digital reverb; and Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer. - See more at: http://www.mixonline.com/news/tours/all-access-florence-and-machine/368254#sthash.PF1WImhw.dpuf

Robert Ackroyd mentions his journey into jazz guitars began with a Gibson ES-335, specifically transitioning from an Epiphone Dot. This transition is part of his exploration for the ideal Jazzmaster guitar. The accompanying image on Imgur shows Ackroyd with the ES-335, illustrating his connection to this iconic instrument.
"The shallow hollowbody provokes just the right amount of malleable, almost three-dimensional, feedback which I tend to utilize as an affected music bed for many of our songs." - Robert Ackroyd.
"Gibson 335s, 345s and 355s are the only guitars I feel entirely confident playing. I love the natural warmth and bell-like tone that they produce." - Robert Ackroyd.
Robert's fuzz pedal is the FZ-5 from Boss according to Mix Online's article.

During 'Queen of Peace', Rob uses the Ebow for the verses and pre chorus, before switching to strumming for the chorus. In the video at 2:24 you can see him holding the ebow while sliding notes up and down the neck.
"To coincide with the supporting tour for the band’s upcoming May 29 album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, Ackroyd selected a new custom-modified American Vintage Jazzmaster."
Modifications include:
- Custom hand-wound pickups made by Fender Master Builder Dennis Galuszka
"The ones that are in the Jazzmaster now have that warm, rounded bell tone. It’s so clean straightaway, and they react incredibly well with the pedals and the E-bow, as well. Playing it through a Hot Rod DeVille really suits the guitar. You can get that lovely rhythm sound and then dig in for that great bite."

"The matching headstock was a dream to have. Fender put out a reissue of the ’65 Jazzmaster with a matching headstock and I was after that. It looks incredible, so we did something a little more personal. I gave [Florence Welch] the option of baby blue or powder pink, and pink won out. It’s just trying to play a guitar that no one else has."
