Owner Insights

Features and functionality

  • The RC-2's operation for storing and recalling loops is not very intuitive; the mode selector sees frequent use during operation.

    Source
  • The RC-2 includes a function to stretch loop timing without altering pitch, resulting in unique audio artifacts suitable for lo-fi music.

    Source
  • The RC-2 allows saving loops in up to 11 separate banks, offering more storage capacity than the RC-1, which only handles one phrase at a time.

    Source
  • The guide/phrase level control utilizes a stacked knob design, requiring careful adjustment to mute the metronome.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners report that the RC-2 has better drum samples compared to later models like the RC-3 and RC-5.

    Source

    Source

Value and pricing

  • It's noted that the RC-2 can be found for around $100, making it a potentially cost-effective choice compared to newer models or brands with similar features.

    Source

Use cases and applications

Legendary looper

My first individual pedal looper, 11 tracks to recorded, not so easy to learn how to use but very worthy to started in the looper universe, good quantity of drums loop, tap tempo is a little messed up but it works, i love how the volume loop and drum loop is separated very useful to live presentation but my big problem with this beatiful pedal is just work in mono so you get limited possibilities, a shame.

angelo_strano

Excellent looper

Quantizes and has a drum machine. Infinite overdubs. Loops can be saved.

steph_said_so

Solid entry level loop pedal

Pros: fairly easy to operate and therefore straightforward enough to gig with. Option for external footswitch for tap tempo and one-stomp loop stop. Sturdy, gig-proof build quality. Cons: Not possible to export to digital. Limited memory bank (9 banks). Terribly artificial-sounding drum sounds.

Good

I never use it seriously, but works fine for fun propouses

I see it as a really good writing tool in the right hands

gary_x_wei

It does a good job

Works exactly as you think a looper would, not to mention it has all the extra fancy functions and features and barebones looper wouldn't have. Only minor issue is that you start to get a bit of subtle noise that gradually intensifies after maybe 4 or 5 overdubs. Great unit overall, though!

For this one

I'm gonna just say look @ Jeff-Says-So review. I can't add much more. As for why I have 2 different Boss Loop Stations? I dunno. I'm lazy about Craigslist basically.

"For this recording, I was plugged directly into an iMac, using Guitar Rig 4 for convenience. My Blackstar was killing the neighbours.. For the looping on Bold as Love, I used a Boss RC-2 and for the overdrive at the end and a Zombie Klone made by London-based company Fredric Effects. Also, a JM signature series Strat fitted with Radioshop Pickups (check them out!)"
