Bruce Bouillet's Gear
Two flametops...the new Guilford RX88 guitar and my FGN strat. #rx88 #guilfordguitars #seymourduncan #guitar #guitarplayer #gotoh
Developed in collaboration with Bouillet.
As seen in this Young Guitar magazine YouTube video of Bruce running through signature Racer X parts. Located above the Friedman BE-100 head.
"They’re there for life. I had a couple other pieces that became too much real estate for my pedalboard, but I had some of the old [CE-1] chorus ensembles. Back in the day, I loved those things."
"I’m working with Fujigen Guitars, and they made me a couple guitars that are very cool. On the album, I used them and a ’78 Gibson Les Paul Standard I bought when I was 15."
"Interviewer: Why did you change out your stock pickups?
Bouillet: 'One reason is for live touring. I like to have some of my guitars matched as far as output and response. Another reason is that I’ve had the luxury of trying different pickups in the same guitar through the same amp. And the JBs were always one of the best sounding. I have stayed with JBs in my main two guitars. A 1978 Les Paul Standard, and a 1978 Ibanez pf300. The sound of my JBs are smooth and even, with a solid output. Not too fuzzy or scooped.'"
"I just recently tried the Slash pickups, and were blown away how good they sounded… So that will definitely be my next installation!"
As seen demoing the Kruse Ultrasonic 100W head in this YouTube video. This is Bruce's signature amp head.
According to DigiTech's website, Bouillet uses DigiTech Synth Wah pedal.

"Interviewer: What kind of gear did you use during the recording process?
Bouillet: Guitars used where FGN Fujigen Expert OS, 1978 Les Paul Standard, 1978 Ibanez Pf 300. Pickups Seymour Duncan JBs, Intex Cables which I highly recommend, Dunlop picks, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Roland Micro Cube amps, Eleven. Boss Gt 100, Boss Super Shifter, Vemuram Triplex, Line 6 delay, D'Addario strings, Pro Tools. Neve 1073's, RCA pre's, V76's Shure 57's."

In a YouTube video by SLNXAY titled "Bruce Bouillet Racer X Medley," Bruce Bouillet is seen using the Friedman Brown Eye 100W Tube Guitar Amp Head while performing signature Racer X parts.
"I saw a picture of your pedalboard. You’ve got a bunch of BOSS pedals, including a CE-2 Chorus.
Yeah, the light blue one. I love that pedal. It’s got the two knobs on it. That one’s straight off my high school pedalboard."
"Yep. Over my span of playing, I can’t count how many different ones I’ve run across. I used the [GE-7] graphic EQ pedal a lot. You’d turn the thing up and it’d give you the perfect overdrive, if you needed an extra boost. I [also] used the yellow OD-1 Overdrive. The DS-1 [Distortion], I have one of the original ones. It’s interesting…in 2007, I got to re-team up with Paul and go on a G3 tour. For me, that was pretty phenomenal, because it’s a Holy Grail tour for guitar, and I was just coming off of 10 years of not playing."

"I saw a PH-2 Phaser on your pedalboard, too.

"Interviewer: Are you still playing the Ibanez PF-300?
Bouillet: I still have it; it was a gift from Paul Gilbert for the tour we did. I was a Les Paul guy growing up, so it was really cool. It’s chambered, neck-through, and plays amazing."
"Playing my sampled guitar parts on the akai mpc 1000."
"Interviewer: Have you used any of the Seymour Duncan pedals?
'Bouillet: Deja Vu Delay. It’s got a great old school sound. And even though its built like a tank, I don’t take my effects pedals on tour much these days, it’s more of my studio delay. Therefore, it’s really under the microscope. It performs great.'"
Made custom patches for the ME-80 for BOSS Tone Central.
