Description
A true tone machine with exceptional balance and playability.
The RX88 comes loaded with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and SM3 Mini Humbucker in the neck. Graphite stability rods, dual action premium truss rod, stainless steel frets, bone nut, rock maple neck, and a honduras mahogany body gives this guitar a stability and sound that will leave you speechless. Be it live or in the studio the RX88 delivers on all fronts. From pure aggression to subtle touch sensitive tones, this guitar has it.
THE 80's
In the late eighties, music and shred guitar were pushing new boundaries. One of the bands at the forefront of this movement was Racer X. Featuring a twin guitar assault like the world had never seen. Now former Racer X guitarist Bruce Bouillet in collaboration with John Guilford brings back the guitar that fueled one of the most influential shred guitar duos of all time!
The overall ease of play is the first thing you'll notice. The access to the upper register is unbelievable, and the amount of unique tones derived from the mini humbucker / humbucker combination, makes it a must for those in the studio or live! Couple all of that with incredible sustain, clarity, and punch, and you'll start to get an idea of what this guitar is about!

the rx88 shape is based on the epiphone wilshere. the epiphone whilshere pro has an inline headstock which more closely resembles the modified 1969 whilsheres and 80s ibanez-made variants both bruce and paul used whilst playing in racer-x together, minus the kahler trem or hardtail bridge
