In this post, on Sum 41's Facebook, the caption reads, "just bought these new amps. these 2 amps together make such a huge sound. this is what we used a lot on the chuck album. they were the main guitar sounds on "no reason" "bitter end" "angels with dirty faces" and "we're all to blame". i can't wait to lay some guitars down for the new record with these. you'll hear a lot of them on this new stuff. "
Deryck Whibley writes on the Sum 41 page:
"I love this guitar. It's a '62 Gibson Les Paul. When they first introduced this guitar in '61 it was supposed to be the new Les Paul. it wasn't called an SG until 1963, so for the first year and a half you can find SG's that say Les Paul on them. This one sounds great. i've used this on "Walking Disaster" and "Pull The Curtain." I bought this around the time we were making Underclass Hero and used it throughout that record. I haven't used it much since then, but looking at it now makes me want to use it more on this new record.
I''ll let you know what songs it makes it onto!"
As he recalls when listing the gear he used during the "All Killer, No Filler" tour in 2001: "In 2001 I was playing a 2001 Les Paul and my old Marauder through Marshall Tsl live. But we also tried using line 6 pods for a while too instead of amps in 2001.[...] I actually meant to say line 6 Pro. They were the rack mount version. Either way, they had the same sounds in them and they did NOT sound very good!"
"I've had this guitar for 7 years and have never played it. Today is the day. Time to record the 59' les Paul!"
At 4:16, Deryck is seen recording parts for a song using a white Gibson SG Junior.

This post, by Deryck, on Sum 41s Facebook, says, "i bought this guitar in new york with brown tom back in 2007 when we did a photo shoot at the guitar center there. it's a '62 gibson 335. it's in absolutely prefect condition. not a single sign of age on it. back in the 60's some doctor bought a bunch of guitars as art and kept them in glass cases. he didn't even know how to play! he's sold them all now since they're worth so much money. i always feel nervous playing it because i don't want to be the first one to put a scratch on it. it sounds and plays amazing. i used this on the song "screaming bloody murder". it's the main guitar in the heavy section after the guitar solo."
