Description
Step back in time with the iconic 1969 Fender Super Reverb, a cherished relic that has likely witnessed countless legendary sessions at SIR Los Angeles. This amp exudes character, with a story etched into every nick and patina of its well-loved exterior. Despite its journey, the Super Reverb remains a powerhouse, delivering the rich, vibrant tones that Fender is renowned for.
This particular model may break the mold with its absence of the typical drip-edge aesthetics from the era, instead showcasing a unique AB763 Hybrid circuit. This transitional-era design features a bias blend circuit and a distinctive phase inverter, offering a sonic experience akin to the celebrated blackface models. For those with a keen ear, the subtle nuances of this circuit are a delight.
While the amp boasts several new components, including a modern power cord and electrolytic caps, the heart of its classic sound is very much intact. The reverb tank now features a 2012 Accutronics replacement, ensuring lush, immersive reverb that complements its unmistakable tone. Housed in the cabinet are P10R Jensens from 1999, providing that crisp, articulate sound that players adore.
Whether you’re a collector, a vintage gear enthusiast, or a musician seeking authentic tonal quality, the 1969 Fender Super Reverb is more than just an amp—it's a piece of music history.
