Critic Reviews

2CAudio Aether review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

2CAudio Aether is lauded as an exceptional algorithmic reverb plugin with fantastic sound quality, ideal for both mixing and sound design. Its standout features include a wide range of categorized presets and highly useful tail envelope controls. However, the plugin's complex parameter set, with over 70 knobs, could be daunting for beginners due to the lack of an easy mode or tooltips. Despite this, it's praised for its ability to sculpt reverb in a manner akin to high-end hardware units, all while maintaining reasonable CPU usage. Aether is a top choice for those seeking a versatile and high-quality reverb solution, provided they are willing to navigate its intricate controls.

2CAudio Aether 1.5 (Mac/Win) Review

mixonline.com

2CAudio's Aether 1.5 Reverb Plugin impresses with its high-end capabilities at a low price, offering deep control over reflections and remarkable sound quality. Its intuitive GUI and extensive preset options make it a versatile tool for any studio. While it shines in creating realistic and immersive spaces, the lack of gated-reverb programs and the complexity of its features pose challenges. Nonetheless, for those willing to navigate its steep learning curve, Aether delivers world-class reverb that enhances any mix with rich, detailed audio.

Excellent Reverb (in my opinion)

Nothing touches Aether for the discerning ear when it comes to reverb. It is an algorithmic reverb that bests the convolution reverbs out there by light-years. Capable of mimicking almost every reverb out there, it can be made to do extraordinary reverb tasks that cannot be done with conventional reverbs. With a smooth musical feel to it throughout, I can't describe it with enough detail to be accurate. It effortlessly sits nicely in the mix due to the non-exponential decay that allows it to linger without the need for turning up the mix volume and muddying the mix as happens with other reverbs. This makes it the cleanest reverb out there. The stereo handling is also unique and of impeccable quality giving it a spaciousness unparalleled. Detailed controls not available on other reverbs make it possible to design nearly any reverb desired and with a lot of options. Hands down, it is the best reverb.

Amazing algorithmic reverb

In my modest opinion, 2C Audio Aether is one of the best algorithmic reverb plugins on the market. It's simply perfect if you like to explore (dark) ambient soundscapes. Come with a large library of excellent presets (expandible with addons) and extensive manipulation capabilities remaining very intuitive. 2C Audio make some other great reverb plugins but I feel very confortable with Aether like no other. Just my modest opinion (sorry for my bad english).

seducsyn

This is the best best reverb that I ever heard before. Even cool from ArtsAcoustic too!!! Capability and endless. I think this two word describes it.

jimmy

Have you tried their B2 reverb?!?!

seducsyn

It’s great for dialing in a specific space really quickly. The browser window and super extensive library of presets make this a must have reverb for anyone."

How he uses it: "I like running pads, swooshes, rises and sound effects with Aether. The detail is good with it, that you could run almost anything through it and it will sound great."

Where he has used it: "I have used Aether on almost everything I have released. It’s been in almost every mix since I have gotten it. It’s so useful, and I have saved it into my logic templates so it always gets loaded up every time with my sessions. Like I said before it is mainly because the GUI is so well thought out. Everything you want to tweak is right there in front of you and the sound quality is so detailed."

The last reverb plugin I bought was the ArtsAcoustic one, but my favourite is Valhalla because you can always find something that will fit with any instrument in any situation.
