Description
Introducing the Ampeg SVT Cabinets, a legendary name in the world of bass amplification. This isn't just any cabinet, it's the very embodiment of SVT legacy - a striking combination of classic appearance and contemporary performance.
The SVT-810AV is a direct descendant of the original SVT-810, a design that has withstood the test of time since 1969. The cabinet is packed with eight 10" speakers, a configuration that Ampeg discovered to be more efficient than larger-sized speakers. This unique arrangement delivers a massive column of sound, with a transient response that's quick and precise.
The SVT-810AV boasts the same Infinite Baffle design that gave the original its tightly focused bass. This sealed enclosure design is still in production today, maintaining the tradition of vast, resonant bass output.
The cabinet's aesthetic harks back to the original SVT-810, with a vintage metallic sheen fabric covering and classic hardware details. Despite the retro looks, the SVT-810AV is equipped with modern connection options, including 1/4" and Neutrik speakON jacks.

Heavy, but killer sounds.
It's a great, deep sounding cabinet, that is the quintessential bass cabinet. It'll move a massive amount of air, too. Heavy, at 140lbs, but you'll get used to moving it.

This cab has seen some sh*t. Originally owned by Mikey Way and used touring with My Chem. Mikey gifted it to me and I used it to tour with Lovecats, Reggie and the Full Effect, The Architects KCMO, Leathermouth, The Cellabration, The Patience, and the Future Violents." - Frank
This amp has seen a lot of love on the road. The grill cloth has been painted over and looks pretty in pink. There is a pretty large rip in the grill cloth in the upper corner. The top has also seen some damage, but is complete solid. There are some rips and areas with missing tolex. Frank's logo is spray painted on 3 sides.
In the MusicRadar article titled "Rig tour: Stone Temple Pilots," authored by Rob Laing, two Ampeg SVT-810AV cabinets are visible in the background of an image where Robert DeLeo is showcasing his Line 6 Variax acoustic guitar.
In a live performance with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard on KEXP, Lucas Skinner is seen using the Ampeg SVT-810AV bass amplifier cabinet.
“My live amp is an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 — or a pair of them, I should say — into two [Ampeg] SVT cabinets. But, for the recording, I used a Fender Bassman Pro 300, which has great tone but is very unreliable, travel-wise. I’ve done recordings where I’ve done a single pass but then when it’s been time to do overdubs or fixes five minutes later the tone has already changed dramatically!"
