Darkglass Electronics is a Finnish manufacturer of bass guitar effect pedals and amplifiers, founded in 2009 in Helsinki by Chilean co-founders Douglas Castro and Hugo Villarroel. The brand's name derives from an online username Castro had used when uploading his progressive metal recordings to music forums. Castro started the company out of frustration with the limited options available for bass-specific drive effects, and the operation grew from a small handcrafted venture into an internationally distributed brand.

Darkglass built its reputation on the Microtubes series — particularly the B3K overdrive and the B7K preamp/overdrive — which employed CMOS-based clipping circuits rather than the diode or LED designs common in guitar-oriented pedals.
