Invaluable songwriting tool
I've been using guitar pro in one form or another for the past 2 years or so and it makes the process of writing much more focused and streamlined. Instead of having to write down every chord I play or trying to record my own riffs, I can simply write a whole song from the ground up, from say drums first or guitars or whatever, and go from there. This program makes it a lot easier to layer more parts on top of eachother and its very easy for me and my other guitarist to send eachother our songs to edit.
Brilliant for complicated music.
Guitar Pro 7 is great for people who write Prog or anything with extensive parts or maybe complicated solos. This program helps you learn, write, teach and most of all easilly create whatever type of piece you want with support for writing for horns, pianos, guitars and all other sorts of instruments.
(I know it's not strickly "recording software" but this is the closest thing I could find. Plus it does have recording functions so it technically counts.

Great Product
it is a great program to write current projects you're working on or practicing. Now, if you're someone who cares about how things sound when writing, you might have difficulty writing.
