118 - Home Studio Basics

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60 is a standout entry-level turntable that offers excellent sound quality and ease of use, making it ideal for newcomers to vinyl. Its simple setup, versatility, and features like autoplay make it user-friendly. However, a notable quirk has emerged over time: the stylus no longer drops at the start of the record, requiring a manual adjustment. While this might be a minor inconvenience for some, it doesn't overshadow the overall value and reliability of the unit. With a rich history of performance since 2014, the AT-LP60 remains a fantastic choice for budget-conscious music lovers looking to dive into vinyl.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60 turntable review: A beginner's turntable for the vinyl revival - CNET

cnet.com

Audio-Technica's AT-LP60 is a standout entry-level turntable that successfully marries simplicity with solid performance at an unbeatable price. Its automatic operation and built-in phono preamp make it user-friendly for both newcomers and seasoned vinyl lovers. However, the fixed phono cartridge limits upgrades, which may frustrate audiophiles seeking a more tailored sound. Despite this, its quality playback and ease of setup make it a worthy pick for anyone looking to dive into vinyl without breaking the bank.

“Audio-Technica AT-LP60” Long-Term Review – SmashPad

smashpad.com

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60 is a solid entry-level turntable that offers ease of use and decent sound quality for budding vinyl enthusiasts. However, it's not without its quirks; issues with tracking on certain records and susceptibility to vibrations can detract from the experience. While the stock performance is adequate, investing in an upgrade kit significantly enhances sound quality. The build quality reflects its budget price, leading to some compromises. For newcomers, the AT-LP60 is a reasonable choice, but expect to navigate some limitations.

It Gets the Job Done

Records rarely skip. The stock stylus was eh but I bought an upgrade for it. Another downside is that it is not built for scratching records. Other than that everything has been working perfectly since I got it.
