That Was Then... Technics SL1210 MK5G review | What Hi-Fi?

whathifi.com

The Technics SL-1210MK5G turntable garners a mixed review. Praised for its robust build quality and reliability, it shines as a DJ deck with features like pitch control and reset buttons. However, its sonic performance lags behind competitors like Clearaudio and Pro-ject, earning it only a three-star rating. While it delivers powerful lower midrange and upper bass, it lacks the subtlety required for more refined audio moments. Ultimately, it's a solid choice for DJs but falls short for audiophiles seeking top-tier sound quality. Despite its average verdict, it remains a beloved classic among many enthusiasts.

Before electronic music, I started with vinyl and hip hop. I love scratching, beat juggling, and would like to keep the art alive.

1210 Technics and my record collection. I think these are the mk5 anniversary edition, because they have no slot or groove in the pitch fader to achieve zero pitch. Plus they can go to ±16 on the pitch too and there are blue LEDs which look cool. I still have most of my vinyl collection with me – I’ll never give it up. I still love buying vinyl and going record shopping today, adding to my collection. Vinyl will prevail over MP3s, I swear
