Description
Sunn Model T inspired Preamp
Born in the dark and forever since living in the shadows. The Sun? No is inspired by the infamous Sunn Model T amplifier.
Using multiple, hybrid gain stages, comprising of both op amp and NOS jfet transistor amplifiers. There are crushing amounts of volume and gain on tap. Always natural and organic from the bottom to the top of the range. The mode switch allows access to both 'vintage' and 'reissue' levels of saturation.
New for version 2, the EQ toggle switches between two different EQ variations for the active tone control. Always keeping that massive low end and mid-range clarity the Model T is famous for.
The Bleak District Electric Sun?No V2 is a high-gain preamp/distortion pedal inspired by the legendary Sunn Model T amplifier, known for its massive low end and doom-heavy tones. It uses a hybrid circuit combining op-amps and NOS JFET transistors to recreate the amp-like response and dynamic feel of the original. The pedal delivers everything from relatively clean, high-headroom tones to crushing, saturated distortion suited for stoner, doom, and experimental music. A key feature is the Vintage/Reissue mode switch, letting you toggle between classic lower-gain tones and more aggressive modern saturation. Version 2 adds an EQ toggle, giving two different tone control voicings while maintaining clarity and depth. Overall, it’s designed as a powerful “amp-in-a-box” with a strong focus on low-end punch and organic gain structure.
