The Jackson JS22-7 Dinky is the perfect blend of aesthetics, playability, and affordability for the seven-string enthusiast. This electric guitar boasts a 26.5" scale length, ensuring precision in your low-end articulation. It's designed with a resonate poplar body, arched top, and a bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint. The Jackson JS22-7 Dinky provides an optimal playing surface with a 12"-16" compound radius fingerboard, complete with 24 jumbo frets and piranha tooth inlays. Fairly good given the pricing
Got this as a gift. I've had this for a few years now and it has served me quite well, though I have a handful of gripes with it. Firstly, I seem to get more pitch drift on the low string than is to be expected proportional to the string gauge, which I've compared recently with my 8-string which is currently set up with more slack and yet seems to warble less. I'm also not entirely on board with the stock pickups, when I play the low string by itself it has a somewhat shrill, clanky sound to it. Other than that I'm happy with this one, It plays very well and I haven't had any issues with the hardware yet.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
This one has varied a lot tuning-wise over the years, some tunings more typical than others, but it probably spends most of its time in the very common Drop A, with Drop G# being another common one for a while. I find that a 62" gauge string on the 7th seems to work well enough in the B Standard/Drop A range.

Jackson Dinky 7
This is my first seven string. But I have taken an incredible liking to the guitar. The neck feels full in my hand. It's not too wide where I feel like I break my wrist to reach the low string. And it's not so thin where it feels like there's nothing there. The hardware is decent. The 26.5 inch scale length works well with the low string, but the high 6 tend to feel overly stiff. Making vibrato on the low E uncomfortable (for me anyway.). The pickups are muddy when you've got the thing on full bore. I like to roll off the volume and tone knob a touch to clear it up a little bit. I like that the tone knob is out of the way. I really like the compound radius fret board. This thing is a tank. The transition to 7 string guitars felt seamless with this guy. I'd buy him again.

This guitar has amazing sustain and good tones on the low ends for a cheaper guitar. Mine has a dimarzio crunch lab on the bridge.
