Egnater Tweaker 40W Head Review — Neil Spencer Bruce

spencerbruce.com

The Egnater Tweaker 40W Head offers a smorgasbord of tonal options with its dual-channel setup and compact, lightweight design that’s perfect for gigging musicians. Its versatility shines through, catering to both clean and crunchy sounds with ease, though it requires some tweaking to find the right mix. The lack of built-in reverb and a shared EQ for both channels may deter some, but the amp’s pedal compatibility and portability make it a strong contender for those who value flexibility over frills. Overall, it's a versatile amplifier with some minor drawbacks.

Egnater Tweaker 40 Head review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Egnater Tweaker 40 is a versatile and tweakable amp head that impresses with its sound quality and flexibility, allowing musicians to craft a personalized tone. While the head's twin channels offer a wide sonic palette from Fender-ish roars to Marshall barks, the shared EQ for both channels could be a limitation for some users. Its design may not appeal to everyone, but the included footswitch adds value. Despite slightly less dazzling clean tones compared to competitors like the Vox Night Train 50, the Tweaker 40 remains a strong contender for gigging musicians.

Refreshing change of pace

Getting back to music after 30 years I figured I'd get me a new tube amp. After calling tech support and testing different responses of the major players I found these guys were the quickest and most helpful on the phone. Found this Tweaker on Reverb for cheap and hardly ever touched and I love it. The two channels are identical so you can make them what you want. It can sound very close to a fender or a vox or a marshal. Very pedal friendly. The only fault is there is no reverb but easily solved in the loop. The gain could use a little boost for metal. 30$ at Amazon and that problem is solved.

A versatile and surprising all-valve amp experience

This amp was a nice surprise. They don´t sell it here in Brazil. I´ve bought from a friend who got it in the U.S. It´s a very versatile amp. With lots of combinations and possibilities between the main amps on the market. 100% valve!

pudgeums365

how's the clean tone out of this?

almirsalgueiro

@pudgeum365 it´s a very coll clean sound. This amp can get very close of a Fender or a Vox. And the dirty channel it´s just insane!
