In this 2019 Instagram post, Way shows off his two new Fender Custom Shop Jazz Basses, Specced identically to his 2023 Fender Signature Series Jazz Bass, however featuring chrome 'ashtray' bridge and pickup covers, which were removed by the time this image was posted but can be found in recordings of him and guitarist Frank Iero (with his Dakota Red Jazzmaster) taking delivery of the guitars. The pair of guitars were finished in Gloss Silver Sparkle (like his production signature) and Black respectively. However the black one was seldom used live and likely tuned to E flat, as opposed to the usual E standard of most MCR songs.
This picture shows Jeremy playing his custom bass. In an interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKuG5F7p6YA at 0:43 he starts talking about this bass "the one we had used on previous records and most of our old live stuff". He calls it his "trusty bass" and it is the one he fells the most confortable to do the flip over his band mate Taylor York during live shows. In this over interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiIEAkQ1-uQ for Fender back in 2010 at 0:20 he talks about the changes he made on the bass: -he cut of a part of it -he usues the samarium noiseless pickups -the neck is from a Jazz Bass Deluxe maple neck
