Absolute top tone
This cabinet contains 4 10" speakers and sounds like nothing else. Bi-Amp capable, it is the best companion of Gallien-Kruegers bi-amp amplifier heads. It allows you to create a "growl" from the woofers without destroying your tweeters like you would in full range. What more do you want? No compromise. I'm in love with this cabinet. I'd like to pair it with a 115 RBH to create a full stack of pure tone.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Connect it to a bi-amp amplifier head with a 4-conductor speak-on: that is what sets this apart from any competition. Great invention. Looking forward to the new RB series heads.

At 5:07 into this video, Flea's bass tech Tracy Robar talks about the 4x10 and 1x15 cabs the Gallien-Krueger 2001 RB amp heads are running into:
“Those are running into the cabinets up on stage, we have three 4x10s, and three 1x15s, Gallien-Kruegers. They’re all running. It’s pretty loud, it’s a pretty punchy rig. But once the PA gets going you’d be surprised how much back gets drowned out by the PA. It’s loud, but not as loud as it is in the house.”
Duff McKagan is shown using the Gallien-Krueger 410RBH 800W 4x10 Bass Cab with Horn in a user-uploaded photo on Imgur. This bass cabinet is known for its versatile 8- or 4-ohm operation and 800W power handling, making it an ideal match for the 400RB head. It features four cast-frame 10" speakers, a horn, and a switchable biamp/full-range mode with a built-in horn power limiter. The cabinet is constructed from birch, covered in black carpet, and includes a 16-gauge steel grille, interlocking corners, nickel-plated casters, and dual front-loaded ports.

He also steers clear of pedals these days, and his only concessions to modern technology are a Shure AD4D wireless system and a monster new Gallien-Krueger rig.
“I had an 800 RB when we were playing in the ’90s and into the early ’00s,” he says. “Epic, legendary amplifier. And then as this [Dogstar] incarnation came back, I wanted to revisit Gallien-Krueger and see what they had cooking, and I was introduced to Forest Gallien, the son of Bob Gallien, who was the head of GK – the mad, beautiful scientist of bass sound.
“I ended up with the 1200 Fusion X. And then playing through the RVH [cab], which is 810s. And that amplifier is beautiful. Any style you want to play – you know, I play rock, but there’s the tone controls and it’s got a tube preamp, so there’s a warmth to it. And the cabinets are a great obvious fit with the amplifier and they’re working out very well. And so that was cool, to kind of modernize.”
