Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Make Noise Brains.

Features and functionality

  • The Make Noise Brains can turn two Pressure Points into an 8-step sequencer, but using them independently requires disconnecting the ribbon cable.

    Source
  • Resetting sequences to shorter lengths is possible by using the gate output of the desired last step, allowing for flexible sequence management.

    Source
  • Brains can clock Pressure Points and synchronize touchplate responses to a clock, aiding in tempo precision during fast tempo performances.

    Source
  • Pressure Points with Brains allows for automatic progression and sequencing of "contexts," making it possible to switch between scale offsets or timbre parameters.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • A sequential switch can extend sequence lengths, enabling configurations up to 12 steps per Pressure Points and 24 steps with dual units.

    Source
  • Using Pressure Points with a sequential switch and a quantizer like the 2hp Tune can mimic Rene's functionality, creating versatile custom instrument clusters.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The Intellijel Tetrapad is suggested as a potential alternative with touch sensitivity, pending the release of its expander for linking capabilities.

    Source
  • Intellijel Tetrapad is noted for its complex functionality compared to Pressure Points, with capabilities for scales, chords, and LFOs, and an upcoming expander for clock synchronization.

If you have Pressure Points, you need Brains.

Enables sequential control of Make Noise Pressure Points module(s). If you have Pressure Points, there's no reason you shouldn't pick up Brains to go with it. It takes up very little space and adds a lot of functionality.
