Manson Junior MA and Verona review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Manson's Junior MA and Verona models showcase the brand's commitment to quality at an accessible price. With a lightweight build and stylish minimalism, these guitars excel in heavier styles while offering a surprising tonal depth thanks to their unique parallel wiring mode. However, the absence of a tone control may limit versatility for some players, and the killswitch could feel gimmicky in the long run. Ultimately, these guitars represent a strong entry into the market, appealing to both new and experienced players looking for a solid workhorse.

Manson MA Junior & Verona Junior review: built for heavy action

guitar.com

The Manson MA Junior offers a unique blend of high-quality materials and a streamlined design, perfect for players seeking something distinct. Its single humbucker and lack of a tone control might limit versatility, but it excels in delivering powerful, aggressive tones ideal for rock genres. The construction from Obeche wood and premium components like Gotoh tuners showcase a commitment to quality. However, potential buyers should note the unconventional input jack location and absence of a vibrato, which may not suit everyone's playing style. While these guitars shine in certain contexts, they may not be the go-to for every player, making them a specialized choice rather than an all-rounder.

Perfect stripped-down guitar

I had the please of spending some time playing this at The Guitar Show in Birmingham, UK in early 2024. It was a great guitar, the custom Dirty Rascal humbucker leant itself well to hard rock, alt rock, and punk sounds, and the Gotoh hardware all felt top quality. It has a durable matte pink/blue/green/black finish, oiled neck, and the "Mojo" switch that's installed on each guitar added a nice variety of tones despite being a single pickup instrument.

I very nearly bought one at the show, but spoke to the Manson team (who were all lovely) and opted for an MA Evo instead, which I ordered when I was home.
