Description

Each MIDI Sprout comes with two probes that are used to measure changes in electrical currents across the surface of a plant’s leaf. Our technology converts these fluctuations into note and control messages that can be read by synthesizers and computers to generate music and even video. Paired with a MIDI synthesizer, digital audio workstation or MIDI compatible lighting system, artists can use MIDI Sprout to co-create with plants or enhance touch-based interaction between people. Paired with the MIDI Sprout App for iOS, the MIDI Sprout allows you to listen to your plants play harmonious sounds designed by our team of artists. Experience the way patterns and melodies change in relationship to fluctuations in your environment.

Let your music be ruled by your emotions with MIDI Sprout | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

MIDI Sprout presents an intriguing concept, transforming emotional responses into MIDI data via plant and human biofeedback. However, its potential is marred by significant limitations, as it lacks widespread availability and manufacturer backing. The technology, while innovative, is still in a nascent stage, leaving users with more questions than answers. The $300 price tag might deter casual musicians, especially given the lack of a clear production plan. Overall, while the idea sparks curiosity, its execution leaves much to be desired.
