Nakamichi CR-7A Cassette Deck

theaudioarchive.com

The Nakamichi CR-7A cassette deck is highly praised for its superior playback quality and long-term maintainability. With manual playback azimuth adjustment, it excels in handling music, studio, and field recordings. Its wow-and-flutter performance surpasses current production models, and it boasts unique features like a reliable gear drive and shared parts for easier maintenance. However, it lacks modern conveniences like auto-reverse. Overall, it stands out as a top choice for those prioritizing audio fidelity and preservation.

Best cassette deck I ever owned

I've owned a lot of cassette decks, and none come close to the quality and reliability of the Nakamichi CR-7A. I still enjoy listening to recordings on tape with this machine. There's a reason these retain such a high resale value.

I have a CR-1A. It may be the best piece of hardware that I own. Very proud to own a Nak.
