Native Instruments The Gentleman

soundonsound.com

Native Instruments' The Gentleman offers a warm and intimate upright piano experience, capturing the essence of a 1908 model with detailed sampling. The interface is inviting, with simple yet expandable controls for nuanced sound shaping, including EQ, compression, and reverb options. While its tonal qualities and note decay are commendable, giving it a sense of authenticity, there are minor playback issues, such as a click on F1 and crackle on E4. These quirks are somewhat offset by the instrument's charm and extensive customization potential, making it a solid choice despite the imperfections.

Beautiful Piano

I'm not going to bother getting another piano. This is better than ALL of the stock pianos in Logic. This is better than any free sampled piano, and most pianos that are not free. This is better than Scarbee Mark 1. It is just a beautiful upright piano, sounds great at low velocities, sounds great at high velocities, I love this thing. Worth every penny of the money. Use it often and well.

I will never need another piano again.

I will never need another piano again.

This upright piano is worth every penny and then some. The first time I played a song on the Gentleman Demo I bought it within 5 minutes, and haven't looked back.

The Gentleman is on every song I've ever made, and has proven to be my go-to compared to any other piano out there.

The reason I love it so much is because of how emotional it sounds at low velocities. I almost exclusively play my piano on the soft side, and this can give you the chills if you can write the right chords and notes.
