    Source
  • In dual PC setups, separating mic audio requires an additional mixer to prevent the blend of multiple audio sources into one channel.

Software and compatibility

  • Dolby DTS output settings on PS4 can lead to issues; switching to standard stereo or AAC resolves decoder incompatibility.

    Source
  • The Peavey PV6 USB functions as both an input and output device with Jack on Linux, providing a clean input and processed output signal without requiring additional drivers.

Critic Reviews

Peavey PV6 & PV8 USB

soundonsound.com

The Peavey PV6 USB mixer impresses with its affordability and solid build, offering a simple USB interface perfect for budding home recordists. Its robust construction and clear control layout are commendable, and it includes essentials like phantom power and a global low-cut filter. However, some users might encounter low-level digital noise when monitoring via USB, though it doesn’t affect recordings. The lack of more advanced features like PFL or individual channel overload LEDs might be a drawback for some, but at its price point, these omissions are understandable. Overall, the PV6 USB offers remarkable value for money, backed by Peavey’s five-year warranty, making it a reliable choice for those starting their audio journey.

It's very metal and heavy...

OK so this thing is very chunky, heavy and metal and it does the job. It's kind of a cheat that it's called a 6 channel mixer though: really it's a 4 channel mixer where 2 of the inputs are stereo: you can't set the levels of the two mono halves separately or anything. While it's nice to have EQ to play about with it would be even nicer if there was a bypass button to cut the EQ circuitry out if you wanted. Most annoying is the lack of mute and solo buttons. You get what you pay for I suppose, and in this case it's a hefty chunk of metal that can sit on your table and allow you to shove 4 different things into your amp, or by USB into your DAW (if you can settle for not being able to deal with each channel separately)
