Critic Reviews

Behringer RX1602

soundonsound.com

The Behringer Eurorack Pro RX1602 shines as a compact and affordable solution for mixing multiple stereo line sources in home studios. Praised for its simplicity and clean design, it excels in providing good-quality basic line-level mixing, making it an ideal choice for keyboard submixing. Its quiet operation and ample headroom are commendable, although its unbalanced outputs might require additional cables to prevent hum. While lacking advanced features like EQ or effects returns, it effectively addresses the needs of musicians looking for a straightforward line mixer. Despite minor drawbacks, the RX1602 is a valuable addition for both live and studio settings.

An absolute savior...

...for combining a pile of (mostly) digital synthesizers and workstations together! 8 stereo inputs, very easy to use, each input has its own volume and mute button, and more. It's rather cheap (around $100 where I got mine from, new) so I'm not sure how some experienced mastering engineers would feel about it, but I haven't had any issues with it, everything sounds great so far. I have 2 of those. They're currently overpriced on Ebay and Reverb, you can get one cheaper from an actual (online) store.

Hit-or-miss and very basic line mixer.

Connected all of the outputs of my MPCs, drum modules and synthesizers to this mixer... Routed the output mixer to a patch bay. Besides the L/R inputs, the mixer had a MON OUT to send to my studio monitors... After 18 months, it developed a nasty 60Hz hum and I got a Peavey LM16S...

A little hissy...

But again, if you plugging noisy battering ram style synths into another mixer and you just needs some more ins? GO FOR IT. If you are also doing solo acoustic and just really quiet type of playing, it works just fine, no eqs though.....T
