PSP: SpringBox Plug-In | Tape Op Magazine | Longform candid interviews with music producers and audio engineers covering mixing, mastering, recording and music production.

tapeop.com

PSP Audioware's SpringBox shines as a high-quality spring reverb emulation, perfectly capturing the vintage charm and unique artifacts of classic hardware units. Its intuitive interface allows for quick and effective tweaking, making it a versatile tool for adding character to guitar and vocal tracks alike. While the plug-in can deliver subtle spatial enhancements, it excels in providing that desired "boing-y" spring quality. However, the lack of clarity on the specific hardware model it emulates might leave some purists curious. Despite this, SpringBox is a standout choice for those seeking an authentic spring reverb experience in their mixes.

PSP SpringBox Reverb Plugin Review — Pro Audio Files

theproaudiofiles.com

PSP SpringBox offers an authentic and versatile spring reverb experience, excelling in surf guitar sounds and adding unique textures to vocals and drums. Its intuitive interface and creative potential make it a standout choice for musicians seeking vintage vibes without the hassle of analog gear. While it doesn’t replace a Hall reverb, it provides distinctive character, especially for acoustic instruments. The plugin’s ability to deliver pleasing results regardless of settings is a major plus, though purists might still prefer traditional analog units. Overall, it’s a valuable tool for those looking to enhance their sonic palette.

PSP Audioware PSP SpringBox review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

PSP Audioware's SpringBox reverb plugin is a solid choice for musicians seeking a classic spring reverb sound. The plugin shines with its four spring configurations, effective tone shaping, and user-friendly stereo routing. It's particularly recommended for adding character to drums and guitars. However, the A/B switching feature feels somewhat redundant, and users can't modify springs individually. Despite these minor drawbacks, SpringBox delivers vintage charm and versatility at an affordable price, making it a worthwhile addition to any producer's toolkit.

Spring Box

Finally nice sounding emulation of spring reverb tank! I've tried many softwares emulation, but I actually never found a decent one (not considering the softube one which sounds nice but a bit expensive for the minimalistic controls). This one is pretty complete, you have both mono & stereo mode, 3 springs, a Hi-pass filter and a dry-wet control. Sounds good on everything, really

when spring is the thing

this is a solid algorithmic spring reverb simulation with a ton of parameters to adjust... it can sound like a fender outboard, fender onboard, ampeg short pan, roland chorus echo.... gets in the ballpark of anything you want and easily holds its own with impulse responses of real spring units AND its stereo but like old spring units its just 2 independent units slapped together, which can be hella cool on so many levels.... thing is, you can't put it through the effects loop of a real amplifier with any ease and its still missing something when you want a really out-front spring splash in a mix so I find myself using the old tapco rack and traynor a lot lately over this.... that said, this is a nice, versatile virtual spring if you don't have any real spring reverbs or all your spring reverbs are mono (like most of the affordable ones are) and you wanna do stereo tricks.
