Review - Sadowsky Preamp/DI Pedals SBP 1 and SBP 2 - Bass Musician Magazine, The Face of Bass

bassmusicianmagazine.com

The Sadowsky Bass PreAmp DI pedals, SBP-1 and SBP-2, deliver the revered Sadowsky sound in a compact form. Renowned for its FET circuit, the preamp offers a simple plug-and-play solution for bassists seeking clarity and punch in various settings. While it lacks mid control adjustments, this is a deliberate design choice to maintain the signature tone without compromising the mix. The pedals work seamlessly with both passive and active basses, but users with active tone circuits might need to bypass them for optimal results. Overall, these pedals are praised for their ability to enhance bass presence and cut through mixes effortlessly.

Its simple controls make it user-friendly, featuring bass and treble boosts, a volume knob, and a mute switch. Litle Darker Tone than I would like, gets you lost in the mix

I have used this preamp mainly with my G&L JB1 in order to get some treble that I could not get on the Jazz Bass.
It darkens the tone a great deal. But can use it as a boost which worked well. Gets you lost in the mix. Not very useful with active basses in my opion.
