Vintage Tech: The SHURE M267 Professional Microphone Mixer • DcSoundOp

The Shure M267 proves to be a nostalgic nod to vintage mixers, boasting features like transformer isolated inputs and phantom power, all at an incredibly low price point. While its design is charmingly retro, with a lightweight build and VU meter, it’s not without flaws; notably, channel two's failure requires further investigation. The overall impression is that this mixer, while functional and stylish, may not meet the demands of modern users who require reliability alongside retro appeal. It’s a decent pick for those seeking to dabble in vintage gear, but potential buyers should be cautious of its quirks.

I have two of these.

Make sure you get the one with the limiter trimmer on the bottom of the unit. They're noisy, so I'd recap them and swap the dip-8 opamps with tl072s.

Similar type of compression. One is a discrete JFET compressor, the other uses op-amps in a similarly fast type of compression. It honestly sounds like an 'all-buttons-in' 1176.
