Rex and the Bass: 1989 Spector NS-2A Bass Review

rexbass.com

The 1989 Spector NS-2A bass offers a delightful blend of playability and sound, with its neck-through design and versatile EMG pickups delivering impressive growl and clarity. While it shows signs of age with some dings and scratches, the overall build quality and light weight make it a comfortable choice for long gigs. Despite the loss of original pickups, the current setup shines, especially for slap and pop techniques. Priced between $600-$700, it stands out as an exceptional value for those seeking a quality Spector without breaking the bank. A worthy contender for any bassist's arsenal, with only minor drawbacks.

If you watch Would? In the music video, you can see that his Spector bass has black tuners which the NS-2a basses had, and dotted fret markers which the NS-2A basses also had. The bridge is black with black tuners and hardware like NS-2A basses have so this is the case. However I’m almost positive he recorded Dirt with a NS-2.
