Versatile and near future proof!
I bought this years ago in hopes of getting an electric P and J bass sound for synth keys. After some tweaking I did get that sound - although some tweaking was done in post. However, in the years following I began to get more into EDM and electronic-experimental production, and this is where this VST really shines! I've used this for almost every project I've done for the past 7 years. Everything from jazz to rock, from EDM to exploratory - this will do it all! Highly recommend.

An (un)surprisingly amazing softsynth
I bought Trilian last out of the full Spectrasonics suite, thinking "oh, I already have lots of bass sounds, I won't need this!" I was very wrong. Trilian, simply put, is BRILLIANT! The richness, detail, and clarity in the samples is amazing, and you get a wonderful selection of synth basses, fretless basses, electric basses, everything is represented and it is wonderful! Definitely one of the best softsynths in the past decade.

Utterly amazing acoustic and electric bass emulation.
When it comes to real physical instruments, nothing will ever sound better than the real thing. But if you are looking for a pretty mind-blowing emulation of acoustic and electric basses, look no further. The subtlety and nuance Spectrasonics have managed to capture with this is jaw-dropping. There are some classic synth patches on here too, but bear in mind they are sample-based and not from a synth engine (like Omnisphere). They still sound pretty excellent though. You can also load Trilian patches in Omnisphere 2, so when you pair the two together you have a really versatile and professional-sounding set-up. Spectrasonics are the best!

Almost perfect
Has amazing synth and fantastic acoustic samples and integrates into Omnisphere 2. Other than a bit steep price (you have to pay for the best) what's not to like!

Trilian
If you are short of basses you have an enormous amount of basses in Trillian. From clean and acoustic basses to fat synth basses. Very usefull.

Eisen: I used to say lots of stuff but I think these days I think only Omnisphere. It’s absolutely amazing and we also have Trilian, which is really really good. We bought the whole Native Instruments pack for example, and I want to say Massive - it is an amazing synth, but it doesn’t work on Cubase properly.
"I have the usual array of soft synth Plug Ins, Omnisphere 2, Trillion, Stylus RMX from Spectrasonics, most of the Native Instruments stuff, Ethno 2 from MOTU, and some cool stuff from a German company whose name I forget unfortunately." It's misspelled as "Trillion," but it's clear from the context that Gary Numan is talking about Trillian.
"For sounds: @nativeinstruments and @Spectrasonics are my go-to's." Lido has stated in a live stream that he uses Trilian for his slap bass.
In this Youtube Video of Mizkifs stream, You can see Slushii making a track and at 3:22:46 you can see Spectrasonics Trilian Total Bass Module in the plugin list.
I ask EDX on Twitter which Bass he uses for his Tracks. His response: "Thanks for your feedback. Mostly with Trilian, but it needs a lot of tweekin to make it sound phat and clean. #askEDX"
"Recently we've been using Omnisphere and Trilian for pads, bass layers, lead noises etc."
Per this SOS article, dated May 2020:
There's a comment underneath the YouTube video for 'Don't Start Now' suggesting the bass line is the only thing in the video sexier than Dua Lipa. Kirkpatrick laughs out loud at the compliment, and comments, "I used the Scarbee MM-Bass plug–in for the main bass sound. I played the main part on the keyboard, and then edited it afterwards. There's a sub bass underneath it, and it's blended with slaps in the drop, which is from a Trilian bass patch, plus there's a thumb bass.
