Seized a once in a lifetime oppurtinuty; somehow came across one at my local guitar shop.
Shout-outs to Boom762 for the post about these, I never would have known that these things were only produced 30 years ago between '84-'86. I was not only fortunate enough to obtain an incredibly unique electric guitar; the quality control and longevity of the instrument itself is just insane. The GX-200 has a set-neck with a tilted headstock, the stock tuners may appear somewhat cheap but they do in fact work rather well with my (.10.5-.48) gauge. The one that I purchased has a roller bridge installed with the stop tailpiece, so I have not experienced the stock bridge that comes with these. I also had the stock bridge humbucker replaced with a cream Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucker, the body is very thick and dense so wear and tear doesn't affect "play-ability". The neck feels perfect, ultra smooth and fluent unbound rosewood fret-board; mine also stays in tune very well and produces mind-blowing sustain when you crank some overdrive. Hands down the best used guitar I've ever bought, these things are serious hidden gems!

Not a GX-100, but still worth a play
The GX-200 is virtually the same in every way as the Takamine GX-100. For some reason, it just doesn't ring my bell the same as it's explorer brother. Even the sound seems to be different. I can't explain it. It's just not my favorite.

See, I would play one of these. That blue burst is kinda sexy. Looks like a straight-ahead rock axe.

I believe these came in the blue burst, a red burst, all cream, and all black. I don't recall ever seeing one of these in a different color while still looking stock.

Really cool looking, though. I'll have to find one.
