Critic Reviews

Mapex Tornado Review | Decibel Peak

decibelpeak.com

The Mapex Tornado 5-piece drum set is a standout choice for beginners and home recordists, offering an all-inclusive bundle that's tough to beat on value. The kit's surprising build quality and comprehensive packaging—featuring everything from a kick drum to a drum throne—makes it a convenient, affordable entry into acoustic drumming. However, the included cymbals leave much to be desired, lacking the tonal quality expected even at this price point. Despite this, the Tornado’s robust hardware and versatility make it an excellent starting point for aspiring drummers, as long as you're willing to upgrade the cymbals down the line.
