Description

The Custom AH6 Hand-Build Signature Guitar of Alex Hutchings by Waghorn Guitars

The Waghorn Guitars AH6 is a high-end custom-built signature electric guitar developed in collaboration with fusion guitarist Alex Hutchings. Designed for exceptional ergonomics, speed, and tonal versatility, the AH6 combines modern boutique craftsmanship with features tailored for technical fusion, rock, and progressive playing styles. Its unique “half-through-body” neck construction provides the sustain and upper-fret access of a neck-through guitar while retaining the resonance and tonal warmth of a bolt-on or set-neck design. The guitar is fitted with premium DiMarzio pickups, locking tuners, and extensive customization options, allowing players to tailor woods, finishes, hardware, and MIDI capabilities to their preferences. Handcrafted in Bristol, England, the AH6 is regarded as a premium boutique instrument with exceptional playability, tuning stability, and articulate tone.

First look: Prototype Waghorn Alex Hutchings guitar | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Waghorn Guitars AH6, a prototype designed for Alex Hutchings, is an ambitious fusion of form and function. This high-end UK luthier creation boasts a unique body shape, a short-scale 26 fret fingerboard, and a dynamic array of pickups including Bare Knuckle Abraxis and Emerald humbuckers. The inclusion of a Roland GK3 system is intriguing, though the controls may feel complex for some. While the guitar isn't ready for mass production and may undergo further tweaks, its bespoke nature might not appeal to everyone. Ideal for those seeking a custom touch, but its experimental status may not suit the average player.
