Yamaha Gigmaker kit review | MusicRadar

The Yamaha Gigmaker Drum Set impresses with its striking finish and robust build quality, typical of Yamaha's craftsmanship. The kit offers solid value, especially for beginners, but does require some tinkering with damping to achieve optimal sound. While the shells promise durability, the stock drum heads could benefit from an upgrade for enhanced performance. Overall, the Gigmaker balances quality and affordability, making it a commendable choice for entry-level drummers.

The Tone of the Drum shells is almost like professional, it blends Poplar wood which has a mid range tonality with Bass wood which has a low end tonality. Good for Live performance, but needs high end quality mic gears for recordings.

This is my first acoustic drums, i'm surprised how good it sounds, obviously I put some DIY muffling on the toms and floor toms, and I detuned one lug on a snare, and I put a hole on the rezo side on the bass drum, these sets the whole drumset in a Pre-Eq state ready for live and recording.
