Critic Reviews

Yamaha SU200

soundonsound.com

The Yamaha SU200 is a beginner-friendly phrase sampler with some innovative effects like Loop Remix and Slice. It's easy to use and portable, making it suitable for novices and DJs seeking a low-fi aesthetic. However, it falls short with its limited sample memory, basic MIDI implementation, and no pad sequencer. Mixing samples recorded at different rates can lead to artifacts, and the effects are restricted when using high-grade samples. While it offers a fun introduction to sampling, more serious users might find its limitations frustrating. Ideal for those with simple sampling needs on a budget.

good musical electronic instrument to improvise live

My experience is really very positive.

This little sampler is an effects processor that allows me to process other equipment, it has audio routing for microphone and stereo line inputs.

The sampler records with good audio quality, you can also degrade the sound with the effects.

The effects are simple and great, they allow you to do various tricks for human voices and drum samples or music with very marked pieces of compass. timestreetch is similar to S950

The silicone pads are of quality, in all these years the numbers have not been erased.

I recommend this sampler to those who want to do fast things with their hands, such as finger drumming, also for the same with single-note basses, interesting sounds can be played, the filter is not very good, but it works well for subwoofer.

It is polyphonic with 8 voices, it can also offer me pads of one-shot samples of synthesizers.

I'm using it on my last album and I used it before on my previous jobs.
