At 5:10 into the video, Matthew Followill talks about how he came to play his 1983 Epiphone Sheraton:
“I started out playing the day I got to Nashville to join the band. The guys took me to an old music store and bought me a ’71 Les Paul. Which was absolutely incredible, thought I’d hit the big-time already. Played it for a while, but it kind of limited me, I couldn’t get a lot of good feedback. So one day I went shopping with my cousin Nacho, went to a guitar store, and this was sitting there and I played it and it just felt so good to play. Epiphone Sheraton. I think it’s an ’83. And it stuck with me for a couple years. Then I moved on to something that was a little better for live, which was the ES-137. It’s just a little bit better live, but this [Sheraton] is still my favorite - even over the Les Paul. I do [use it on stage] for one song, I just keep it in the back and let her rest. It’s my backup guitar, if the other one breaks.”
3:07 into this video, guitar tech Nacho Followill reveals that Matthew plays on an Ampeg R212R Reverberocket Amp, 2X12. He says he likes it for the master and the gain switch, you keep the volume low and get it "crunchy," or turn it up very loud (as they tend to keep it).
This video has an upload date of August 2009.
First submission notes: its a costume dc 30.
Complementary submission notes: Since many years back, the Followills have been using Matchless amps for their performances. However, opposite to Caleb, who recently plays his guitar with a pair of AC15C1 amps, Matthew Followill have been playing through a Matchless DC-30. There are more pictures and videos showing up his amp (or amps, when he carries out a backup).

In this Kings of Leon performance at "Red Bull Sound Space", at the 41:49 mark you can see a great close-up shot of Matthew Followill playing a Fano JM6 guitar during the song "Tonight" from their Mechanical Bull album. The color of the JM6 looks to be Shell Pink, although the lighting during the performance might make that misleading. The guitar is also outfitted with a Bigsby tailpiece.
Starting at 4:23 into this gear walkthrough video, Matthew Followill's MXR M-133 Micro Amp Pedal can be seen. Kings of Leon guitar tech Nacho Followill says, "this is... just an overdrive MXR, for more boost and gain..."

Used for Only by the Night, particularly on "Sex on Fire", as stated by producer Jacquire King in this July 31, 2019 interview with producer Warren Huart at 1:27:49.
Huart: And then the Selmer you were talking about that got used on the album quite a lot.
King: Yeah, I definitely know that it's on "Sex on Fire", I don't think it's on "Use Somebody". I think that was Caleb's Matchless that we used on "Use Somebody". And that's also the "Let It Go" song of James Bay, that's the guitar amp that was used for that.
At 4:52 his guitar tech Nacho (cool name) shows it off. Although he probably doesn't use it anymore as this video is over a decade old.
Edit : He still uses it, as seen on his new pedal board here https://xacttone.com/info/photo-gallery/matt-followill/
