" Blackie " has served Mr. Gilmour very well .
I have read the history behind this Guitar by not only David Gilmour but His Tech that basically built it. After building a few Myself ( in My opinion ) there are only 3 different ways of building a Fender ( USA ) Strat. ( 1 ) Eric Clapton, ( 2 ) David Gilmour, and last but nowhere near least ( 3 ) Buddy Guy. If'n You had these 3 Fender Strat's and a Merle Haggard Fender Tele with another Tele with a Bigsby, You are ready ( Equipment wise ). Sure I like Gibson Les Pauls just fine but after playing them HEAVY ass Guitars, You too will be looking for something a little lighter. I played a '70 LP Custom 1978 till 2001. Had to retire that one. ~Pepper~

Can't put this baby down!
Instead of buying the replica, I built mine with original Fender Parts as well as replica components to get to the closest replica of the famous Black Strat. In this case, I stuck with The Wall era, featuring the custom made Seymour Duncan SSL1-DG. Check out my build at http://theblackstratbuild.blogspot.com for more details!
Best Strat I've ever had.
I've bought this guitar to get the ultimate gilmour tone for my Pink Floyd tribute band. I've nailed it
