"I also stumbled upon an old Burns Bison bass. That is the heaviest instrument I've played, it weighed a ton but it is the closest in its bottom end to the Thunderbird. That bass brought life to a few tracks. I'm still using the Ampeg. I haven't found anything that will better it."

He possibly used many more of Gibson Les Paul Customs. This one has two humbuckers, and it was used during the 2006 tour, as this photo from Limburg concert in Netherlands shows. It has a silver sticker attached to it, as well as some kind of purple tape. The same one was used in 2009 Rock Am Ring festival for "Every You, Every Me".
