Since the conception of The Smith Street Band, Wil has played with his J Mascis Jazzmaster. In the link the J-Mascis signature on the back of the headstock is visible.

This pedal was developed to transition from Wil's smooth, low-gain tones to Lee's more aggressive, full-range drive, utilizing a combination of germanium and LED diodes for a versatile sound.
