Take your RV-5 and throw it out the window
After owning 2 RV-5 pedals and a Blue Sky, I have to say this is my favorite reverb by far! It takes the famous RV-5 modulate setting and increases the quality big time. The tone control is actually usable in every position, and the other settings beside modulate sound good as well. Plus, you have shimmer and delay+reverb as an option! And the expression jack is a great addition. If this had a favorite switch like the Blue Sky, this would be the end all of all reverb pedals.

Not bad for the price!
I had this pedal on my wish list for quite sometime. I got it for my 15th birthday finally, and just messing around with this pedal was amazing. The only downside is that on the wet input and output, you cannot get your dry signal when you turn it off, but that's okay. This pedal is amazing, especially the shimmer, plate, and modulation settings! The pedal works really well with distortion, so far this pedal has been amazing to use!

Unbelievable performance
If you want Strymon reverb but hesitate because of its cost, this is it. Of course Strymon's sound is so smooth that I don't think it's overpriced, but this RV-6 can compete. It has many useful modes with very natural decay, especially I like plate and hall reverb. Strymon's spring reverb sounds better than that of RV-6 for me, but it still make me feel good while playing.

Great 'shimmer' setting
When it comes to performing originals or some covers the 'shimmer' setting is perfect for what I need. That really cool space effect. More control over the amount of effects being inputted when an expression pedal is attached.

Latest incarnation
BOSS's RV-6 is the latest incarnation of their stompbox digital reverb series, which started with the RV-2 way back in the late 1980s.
This one is pretty good! This time round we get Hall, Plate and Spring, a delay/reverb setting, the gorgeous modulated delay setting has been improved in richness from the RV-5, and we also get BOSS's attempts at the now-ubiquitous 'shimmer' reverb. Which, alas, isn't the best; it's a bit harsh to be honest. But, helpfully, there is a dedicated TONE knob, and, with a bit of tweaking, that harshness can be tamed a little. Strymon and Neunaber are still the kings of shimmer, but they're expensive! This is a good compromise for the more budget-conscious.
Good old BOSS, eh? Yes. Their pedals are workmanlike, a bit generic, and, dare I say it, just a wee bit ...boring? But, you know what? They get the job done. And sometimes that's what you want.

Epic pedal!!
This pedal is perfect for Ambient, Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Noise music and such, also it has Delay, a simple but effective delay, awesome, you can make great atmospheres with this little pedal, amazing!!

Bitchin' sounds, brah
Noice spring reverb, some o' dat cray cray synthy shit on "shimmer"

Pretty Good!
Boss is classic. Better reverbs out there for sure, but for the price point, I would probably choose this over a HOF any day.

One Of If Not The Best Reverb Pedals So Far
This is a great digital reverb pedal. I personally have never really like digital reverb pedals as I always preferred an analogue pedal due to the feel of the reverb but this pedal hits the nail on the head. I got mine for £100 last year and I can see it being moved off my pedal board for years to come. It has tones of effects from your normal room/hall sounds all the way to modulation and even a little all be it not very good in my opinion delay function. But for £100 you can't go wrong with this little beast easily on of the best mid-low range pedals on the market at the moment.

Description
Eight beautiful reverbs packed into one easy-to-use, compact pedal.
Combining high-end sound and wide-ranging versatility, the RV-6 takes pedal-based reverb to the next level. Reaching beyond the capabilities of previous generations, this powerful stomp employs the latest tech and legendary BOSS know-how to make it easy to get amazing reverb tones instantly. From subtle rooms to modern shimmer effects to long, evocative reverbs, the RV-6 envelops your tone in lush ambient spaces that endlessly inspire.
Simply Great-Sounding Reverbs
Packing the latest BOSS DSP and updated algorithms, the RV-6 gives you eight highly musical reverb effects in one compact pedal. Add body and depth to your core tone with standards like Room, Hall, and Plate, dial up swirling richness with the Modulate setting, or surf it up with a vintage-style Spring reverb. Dynamic mode automatically adjusts the effect depth to your playing touch, providing deep, immersive reverb that wont turn your tone to mud. And modern players will love the new Shimmer and Reverb+Delay modes.
Dialed-In Sounds at Your Command
The RV-6 makes getting high-quality reverb sounds with your guitar quick and easy”just select a sound mode, tweak the knobs to taste, and play. But while its operation is simple, the RV-6s sound is rich and sophisticated. Under the hood, each mode includes a huge array of detailed reverb parameters, all perfectly tuned for guitar by the BOSS engineers with direct input from many pro players and engineers. Even as you adjust the selected mode with the Time and Tone knobs, many parameters are simultaneously adjusted inside to create the ideal voicing for every setting.
Analog Dry Tone and Versatile I/O
While the RV-6s reverb effects are high-tech digital, you can rest assured that your straight guitar tone always remains pure analog as the effect is blended in. Convenient auto-switching jacks let you integrate with any pedal chain, with support for mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-stereo operation. And by plugging into the B input only, the RV-6 outputs a 100-percent wet sound, great for working with more complex rigs that employ parallel processing chains and mixers. Theres also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play.

Great pedal that gives you a wide, diverse array of sounds.
This was the first pedal I ever bought for mysefl - I'd been gifted an OS-2 and a CH-1 years before - and I loved that I finally had access to such great reverb sounds, not to mention a reverb/delay setting. As I started buying more pedals, though, I started to use it less. I didn't necessarily like the shimmer setting that much at a certain point, I more or less replaced it with a Zoom MS-70CDR, which had an even more diverse array of reverbs, in addition to a far better spring settings and controlability. I ended up selling it to my band's bass player along with the other Boss pedals I mentioned (I don't mean this to be elitist bc Boss pedals are great) because I didn't find myself using them as much as I should. I used the money selling it to get an EQD Ghost Echo: a pedal that compensates its lack of diversity with an ethereal, haunting sound and an incredible spring sound.
This is definitely one of the best reverbs for its price, especially if you're still figuring out which reverb sounds you like - unfortunately though, it doesn't have a reverse reverb setting - so all in all a great pedal.
